People of unknown parentage are considered to be at risk groups. Most societies were keen to care for them and worked to compensate them for what they were deprived of in terms of family care by providing alternative care for these individuals in alternative families or social institutions specialized in their care, which is a very important issue for these children.
The main objective of the current study is to monitor the most important problems suffered by people of unknown parentage at the Child and Youth Care Center in Al-Khoudh in Muscat Governorate. And to identify ways to address them. Providing suggestions and recommendations that can contribute to changing society's view of unknown parentage and help integrate them. The study relied on the functional theory and the social stigma theory to interpret the results of the study.
This study belongs to descriptive analytical studies. Accordingly, the study relied on the case study approach, where a specific number of cases of people of unknown parentage were selected at the Child and Youth Care Center in Al-Khoud. In-depth case studies were conducted for a group of employees at the same center, and in-depth interviews were conducted for a number of expert The study also relied on the In-depth Interview Guide as a tool for collecting data.
A purposive sample of (11) cases was selected from among people of unknown parentage at the Child and Youth Care Center in Al-Khoudh in Muscat Governorate, with ages ranging between (13-26) years, males and females, because this group is the most mature and aware, and therefore cases under 13 years were excluded. The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which is that there are many social and psychological problems suffered by those of unknown parentage at the Child Care Center in Al-Khoudh, the most important of which is the feeling of social stigma and marginalization of those of unknown parentage, and the inferior view of them by some members of society. The study recommends the necessity of integrating those of people of unknown parentage into society, and working to change society's view of them.
