The current study aimed to study the relationship between psychological burnout and emotional intelligence among social workers in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. The study relied on the descriptive, correlational approach. The study sample consisted of (146) male and female social workers, including (42) males and (104) females. The psychological burnout scale prepared by Maslach (1982) and Arabized by Al-Wabli (1996) was used, and the emotional intelligence scale prepared by Othman and Rizk (2001). The results of the study showed that there is an inverse correlation between psychological burnout and emotional intelligence, and that the level of psychological burnout among the sample The study appeared moderate, and the level of emotional intelligence among social workers appeared high. The results of the study also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the degree of psychological burnout attributable to the variables of gender and years of experience, in addition to the absence of statistically significant differences in the degree of emotional intelligence attributable to For the variables of gender and years of experience, the study came out with a set of recommendations and proposals in light of the study results.
