This study is concentrated on understanding the ability of industrial companies associating strategic operations represented in(reducing cost, quality, flexibility, swiftness and innovation) with competitive advantage and what such advantages can achieve in the market.
So this study is intending to develop a model that shows the relation and the effect of strategic operations on competitive advantage. Using a questionnaire prepared to be distributed to a sample of (70) . This model is applied and tested in five Libyan companies working in the field of sop and cleaning materials manufacturing.
The result of the study showed a positive correlation of statistical significant between strategic operations and competitive advantage.
The study also pointed to possibility of realizing competitive advantage through increasing market share by adopting strategic operations represented in swiftness and cost reduction. As well, the business reputation can be fostered through adopting other strategic operations such as innovation and high quality.
The study suggested some recommendations including the priority of considering the different strategic operations mentioned in this research to be adopted by the mangers of the understudy companies for the effect of such strategy on the competitive advantage which may be competitive weapon in their work environment. And to maintain competitive advantage in a changing and renewable environment, the study also recommends that mangers of the understudy companies have to follow up continuously the market situations and customer's demands.
