The subject of the Research addresses a study on confession and
its effect on criminal evidence in light of the provisions of Criminal
Proceedings Law. A main question was asked with regards to the
problem contemplated in the Research which centers on finding out
and displaying the authoritative effect of the confession of the accused
person in criminal evidence as per the said law. The Researcher has
relied on analytical and descriptive methodology in resolving the
problem whereas he demonstrates in the Research the nature of
confession, its importance and validity conditions, and not subjecting
the accused to any kind of coercion that may affect the validity of the
his confession or will. The study also clarifies the validity of confession
and its effect in criminal evidence as well as clarifying the authority of
court in dividing the confession or not taking it into account. The study
has reached various results with a number of recommendations that
serve the purpose of the research.
