This study aimed to identify the reality of strategic planning at the university of Nizwa in the sultanate of Oman from academic staff perspectives. The descriptive approach was used. The questionnaire was used as a main tool for the study. It was applied to a sample of 105 individuals from the academic faculty at Nizwa University, University of Nizwa.
The study reached the following results: That the degree of application of strategic planning at the University of Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman from academic staff perspectives for Topics of study(University Values, Mission of the University, Strategic Objectives, Vision of the University, Implementation of the Strategic Plan, Evaluation and Follow-up of the Strategic Plan, Environmental Analysis, Strategic Planning Preparation) It was among the high degree of approval, While the degree of implementation of strategic planning in the implementation of the strategic plan was medium, there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance of the implementation of strategic planning at the university of Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman from academic staff perspectives according to the gender variable, variable qualification, (0.05≥ α) between the academic rank, associate professor and assistant professor on the one hand and the academic rank, professor of the other side in the axes (preparation of the strategic planning - the vision of the university - the message of the university). University and for the benefit of the academic level Professor.
The study recommended a number of recommendations, including: to support and encourage the staff of the university to continue this great degree in the implementation of strategic planning at the university, to pay more attention and focus on the implementation phase of the strategic plan, and to take advantage of the capabilities and experience of higher academic ranks such as the rank of professor in the preparation and implementation of the strategic plan and their involvement in the process Strategic planning of training programs, and the provision of more training programs, which means developing the skills and abilities of the staff at the university to implement the strategic plan according to the needs and functions of the new plans, in addition to the need to develop the university for alternative strategic plans for adapting the university to emergent variables.
