The study aims at identifying the administrative problems that face the private school in the Sultanate of Oman from the point view of both principals and teachers and whether there are statistically significant differences between the means of problems according to gender, qualification experience and school buildings.
To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher analyzed relevant literature review, and developed a 57-items questionnaire, classified according to the following dimensions: work circumstances, students, the administrative-staff relationship, the Ministry of Education, relationship between workers and the schools owners, parents, the school curriculum, and school building. The validity and reliability of the instrument were established. The sample of the study constitutes of 364 individuals including 100 principals and 264 teachers. To answer the questions of the study, the researcher used the means, SD's, Rank, T-test, one way ANOVA and Scheffe's test. ,
The main findings of the field study were as follows: 1- The participants evaluation of the problems related to the seven domains varied from high, medium and low. 2- It was high in the field of ministry of education. 3- It was medium in the fields of parents and the school curriculum. 4- It was low in the remaining areas administration-teachers relationships work condition, students and staff relationship with the school owners.
In the light of the literature review and the findings of the study, several operational suggestions are being suggested such as, Government support by raising the salaries in private schools by bearing part of the salary to the teachers specially Omani teacher in order to encourage them to join private schools.
