الملخص الإنجليزي
This study aims at measuring the organizational commitment of the middle managers of the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman, and determining whether there are statistically significant differences that could be attributed to the demographic characteristics of the respondents and the organizational variables.
The main instrument of the study is a questionnaire adapted from Al Oteibi and Al Swat (1997). It consists of 36 items that are included under three clusters, namely: the normative, affective, and the continuous. A population of 138 of the middle managers were administered the questionnaire. The researcher employed the averages, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA (One Way Analysis of Variance) to Analyze the data. The findings point to high levels of normative and affective commitment while the continual commitment scored only moderate composite ranking. The differences among respondents were not statistically significant. The correlation coefficient show that the three dimensions of commitment as measured by the instrument were positively and significantly related.
