The study was divided into an introduction, a preface and three chapters. The preface talked about the economic conditions and currencies in circula on in Oman before the year 1919. The rst chapter focused on identifying the currencies used in Oman between the two world wars, in terms of their types, metals, description in details, and to identifying their issued areas, whether foreign currencies or local currencies. The second chapter dealt with the subject of the economic crisis affecting Oman between 1919-1939, and divided into internal and external crises, with the presentation of each crisis and describing it in details in terms of reasons, motives and results. The third chapter dealt with the impact of the economic crisis on the aforementioned currencies used in Oman, and the results of this effect ways used to manage this crisis.
The study relied on a number of documents published and unpublished, in addition to a number of sources and references that addressed the study period. The study followed the descriptive quantitative and historical approach, which is based on research and survey of the historical facts to scrutinize and analyze them to achieve the objectives of the study.
The study ended with a conclusion including the most important findings of the researcher, which showed the richness of Oman with different types of currencies, both local and foreign. In addition, it explains the economic changes experienced by Oman between the two world wars. Which have had a significant impact on currency exchange, value and weight. The operations and reforms of the country sultans attempts to issue a new currency away from the effects of war had an active role in improving the economic situation and currency trading in Oman.
