Through the Framing theory, the research also aims to compare the use of those frames in relation to the Media ownership (government vs private).
This study uses the descriptive and quantitave content analysis method to compare the the frames in the Omani Arabic press.
Meanwhile there seem to be differences in utilising sources, and elements of layout, the study proved that there are no differnces in the way Omani newspapers used the news frames of the protests and sit-ins of 2011. This means that despite the type of newspaper ownership, the frames used remain the same.
The researcher concludes that there is a similarity in frame utilisation between the two newspapers, however, the layout elemnts, the sources and the sources used are different to reflect each newspaper's ownership (Private/Government).
The researcher recommends that the Newspapers should utilize more of its own resources to enable them to relate and reflect their own openion on the news that are relevant to their communities and affairs,
