The study aimed at revealing the perceptions of school principals about the implementation of the educational indicators system in the government schools in Muscat. It also examined the positives of the system of educational indicators, the challenges that may face school principals in applying the system and developing proposals that contribute to the development of educational indicators system
To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher conducted quasi-standardized interviews by selecting an objective sample consisting of 16 managers from the administrative leaders who apply the system of educational indicators in the public schools in the General Directorate in Muscat Governorate.
The perceptions of the sample of the study were highly indicating the importance and the advantages of the educational system indicators to serve the learning process of the directors of public schools, with some of challenges that face them in implement the system such as the weakness of the network the huge amount of information and data and the end if default age of some electronic devices and devices used to work on the system indicators in their schools' and lack training. The members of the sample also presented some suggestions that may help in developing the indicators of the educational system according to their points of view such as providing special and independent servers for the system and developing the administrative and technical competencies to work according to the system of educational indicators through providing appropriate training workshops in terms of knowledge and practice of the administrative leadership application of the system in public schools.
Based on these results, the study presented some suggestions that may contribute to the development of administrative work according to the system of educational indicators in the Sultanate of Oman, including the need to provide assistance to schools by providing more knowledge and technical knowledge on how to benefit from the indicators system in the process of improving school work, a team in charge of implementing the system from the ministry visits schools periodically to hold seminars with the team of development and improvement in the school and to find out what hinders work within it and to limit the training needs of each individual in this team, the need to provide Internet devices and networks suitable for the large amount of data and the information contained in the system and check the required speed access. The study concluded with the suggestion of a number of related studies that could be carried out in the future.
