الملخص الإنجليزي
This study aimed at investigating the effect of using the computer in learning rules of Quranic recitation. The study attempted to test the following hypotheses
-There are no significant differences at the .05 level between the means of the experimental and the comparison groups in their learning of the rules of Quranic Recitation.
- There are no significant differences at the .05 level between the means of the experimental and the comparison groups in their learning of the skills of Quranic recitation,
- There are no significant differences at the .05 level between the means of high achievers and low-achievers in their learning of the rules and skills of Quranic recitation using the computer.
The sample of the study consisted of two sections from the second secondary class of the Islamic Sciences Institute in Khasab. The number of students was 38, 18 of them were assigned to the experimental group, and 20 were assigned to the comparison group. The researcher ascertained the equivalence of the two groups using the t-test for two independent samples.
Two tests were used in this study: the first was a multiple-choice achievement test. The validity of this test was judged by experts, and its reliability was confirmed by administering it to a separate group of students. The second test was skills test (i.e. performance test) for which the researcher used an observation checklist which included the required Quranic recitation rules. This checklist was used to assess the recitation of the student of some Quranic aya's..
In order to test the first two hypotheses, the researcher used the t-test for independent samples for the grades of each Quranic recitation rule separately and for the total grade of all rules. This was done for the achievement test and the skills (performance) test. The results indicated that there were no significant differences between the means of the two groups in the achievement and skills tests for all recitation rules except for one rule only, where the experimental group performed better than the comparison group in the achievement test.
. To test the third hypothesis, the t-test for two independent samples was used. The two samples were high and low achievers in the experimental group. The results of the t-test revealed that there were significant differences between high achievers and low achievers in favor of high achievers.
The study recommended the increase of teaching time allocated for Quranic recitation rules to enable students to apply these rules. The study also recommended the importance of emphasizing the role of the teacher and his adequate preparation to teach Islamic education in general, and Quranic recitation rules in particular, in an efficient way utilizing modern technological means that are available to him.
