This study addressed the subject of the legal system of maritime pilotage in accordance with the Omani Maritime Law. The subject was discussed through the chronological advancement of maritime pilotage, pointing out the participation of Omani sailors since ancient times. The study has shown the significance of this subject and the researcher's grounds for the selection, illustrating the growing international trade and the strategic location of the Sultanate of Oman, as it oversees one of the crucial trade routes. The research has focused on indicating the nature of the legal system for maritime pilotage within the Sultanate and its implications and comparing has compared it with the laws of some Arab and GCC countries when needed.
Finally, the researcher concluded with some findings and recommendations, which might, in his judgment, improve maritime pilotage within the Sultanate, especially, with the horizontal and vertical expansion of maritime commercial ports and services within the Sultanate, that is aimed to keep pace with the growth of trade.
