الملخص الإنجليزي
The study aimed at determining the preferred learning patterns among the Arabic language learners from their point of view and their relation to some variables
(gender, nationality, educational level and educational environment).
To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed a scale according to the classification of the VARK, which includes four types of learning patterns: visual style, audio style, reading style, and kinesthetic style (practical), consisting of (52) paragraph divided into four preferred learning patterns, the scale was applied on a sample of (103) learners male and female from the Sultan Qaboos College for Arabic Language Education in the State of Manah, the Arab Experience Institute in Muscat Governorate and the
Al-Daad Institute at Nizwa University in Nizwa State. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach.
The study reached the following results:
1.That the learners of Arabic often prefer the four types of learning in varying degrees, and the order of learning patterns according to the degree of preference of the learner in terms of the arithmetic and percentage, came in the following order:
- First, pattern style (reading learning - writing).
- Second, visual learning style (visual).
- Third, kinesthetic style (practical).
- Fourth, audio learning style (oral).
2.There are statistically significant differences at the level indication (0.05) between the average scores of learners with respect to their preferred learning patterns according to the gender variable, and this difference is in favor of males.
3.There were no statistically significant differences at the level indication (0.05) between the average scores of learners in terms of their preferred learning styles according to the variable of the educational environment (place of study).
4.There were no statistically significant differences at the level indication (0.05) between the average scores of learners with regard to their preferred learning patterns by nationality variable.
5.There are statistically significant differences at the level indication (0.05) between the average scores of learners with regard to their preferred learning styles according to the variable of the academic level. These differences are in benefit of the middle-level learners.
