We have taken in this study the manifestations of submission and delay in the Poetry of Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Maawali, and we have categorized them and search in semantics which lead to them and contributed to the formation of the general meaning. We identified the problem of study in several questions, which are: what is the ability of the submission and delay to detect the semantics that the poet conceals when he using this method ? How did the method of submission and delay contribute to clarifying the meanings that the poet used? Did Al-Maawali successes in employing the phenomenon of submission and delay to form the general meaning? What are the most important aspects of the submission and delay in Al-Maawali's divan? And how can be explained?
One of the approaches which we have used in this study is the analytical descriptive approach, based on extrapolation, where we had to follow the manifestations of submission and delay in the divan, and classified them, and then analyzed these aspects to reach to the semantics.
We made the study in (Introduction of the Study, Preface, and three chapters.
Introduction of the study, it includes the definition of the submission and delay phenomenon and limits of the study, and then the motivation for subject choice, and the problem of the study, and the methods we relied upon to treat the subject, and the plan we drew for the study, and showed the previous studies, and the main sources we relied on.
in the introductory we had addressed the definition of the poet, and then we searched in a number of Arabic dictionaries the origins of the word submission, and then we explained the importance of submission and delay based on the scientist's speeches, and comment on them, and then we discussed the role of systems in the sense of grammar, our goal is to clarify the role of the systems to output the intended meanings, and then we moved to the divisions that the scientists pointed out in the method of submission and delay. We tried to present our opinion on these divisions. After that, we dealt with the linguist's and eloquence efforts in dealing with this phenomenon, and finally we mentioned the conditions and reasons for the submission and delay. Then we devoted the last two chapters to study the manifestations of submission and delay in the nominal and actual sentence, and finally in the conclusion of the study, we presented the findings and recommendations.
