الملخص الإنجليزي
In this work a monolayer 2D graphene has been fabricated using
chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method, where the growth
conditions have been obtained and optimized. Some challenges have
been investigated extensively, such as finding the optimum growth
conditions and elimination of white particulate impurities. The
contamination was traced and tackled in the stages of the graphene
fabrication process. The results reveal that the white impurities are
silicates formed as a result of oxides and copper ions interaction with
CVD quartz tube. Improvements in the manufactured 2D graphene
quality were made by using microchannels of high aspect ratio (width/
height). This thesis holds a great promise for 2D material, where
graphene has been successfully fabricated, transferred, decorated
and blended with polymers aiming to adapt it to different uses.
Material characterizations techniques which have been used such as
Raman, SEM, EDS, XRD, TEM, XPS, and EBSD indicate the
significance of the study, which can be the basis for subsequent
studies and a step to adapt graphene into various industries.
