The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of training program based on the skill of understanding emotions of others when dealing with them in improving grade eleventh male students' school academic adjustment in Sultanate of Oman. Quasi-experimental design was used in the study. The sample of the study consisted of (40) male students of grade eleventh divided into two groups (control and experimental).
To test the study hypothesis, the researcher has used the emotional intelligence skills scale, and the scale of school academic adjustment. In addition, the researcher has developed a training program based on the skill of understanding emotions of others when dealing with them, including self-assessment questionnaires of the sessions, and observation cards. Findings of the study showed that the training program based on the skill of understanding emotions of others when dealing with them was effective in improving grade eleventh male students' school academic adjustment; that is, these findings revealed that there were significant differences between experimental group and control group in school academic adjustment in favor of the experimental group. In the light of these findings; a set of recommendations and suggestions were made.
