This study aimed to investigate the Reality of participative leadership for public school principals in Al Dakhiliyah governorate and its relation to organizational commitment of teachers in their preceptive. To achieve the study goals, the researcher used the correlative descriptive approach and a questionnaire as a study tool. The questionnaire consisted of (51) items divided into two dimensions (the degree of participative leadership and the level of organizational commitment). The study group contained all male and female public-school teachers in the Governorate who were (8052) teachers. The study sample was chosen using the simple random method and consisted of (805) teachers.
After statistical data processing using (spas) the study concluded various results, the most important of which were as follows: The degree of participative leadership practicing by Al Dakhiliyah public school principals from the perspective of teachers in general was high. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences among study sample response with regard to the reality of participative leadership according to the variable of gender in favor of females in the field of participation in leadership tasks. And the presence of statistically significant differences based on the variable of academic qualification in the dimension of human relations in favor of higher education degree holders.
The results also concluded that Al Dakhiliyah governorate teachers have a high level of organizational commitment, the study also showed no statistically significant differences for organizational commitment based on gender. There were also statistically significant differences based on the variable of academic qualification in in favor of graduate degree holders within the dimension of emotional commitment, for 16 years and over. And the results of the study showed a proportional positive relationship between participative leadership practicing and the level of organizational commitment with medium degree in all dimensions.
The study recommended several recommendations, such as: working on improving and enhancing the performance level of school principals by involving in regular training courses in the field of leadership, especially participative leadership, as well as enhancing the organizational commitment in the educational organizations.
