This study aims at examining the effectiveness of a collective guidance program for social skills training, based on the Reality Therapy Theory among basic education students at Dakhiliya Region in the Sultanate of Oman.
The sample of the study consists of (20) students who have scored the lowest marks on the Social Skills Scale, which was applied on (98) grade-8 students from Abu Zaid Alriyami Basic Education School in Dakhalia Region.
The sample was randomly divided into two groups (experimental and controlled). The former was subject to (16) sessions of the guidance program while, on the other hand, the latter has never undergone any kind of guidance programs. In this study, the guidance program was an Independent Variable while the performance of the respondents was a Constant Variable.

Using Mann-Whitney U Test to test the variances of averages after implementing the program, the results showed that there are certain statistically indicative variances between the averages of experimental and controlled groups in favor of the experimental group.
Furthermore, the results have also indicated that there are statistically indicative variances in the follow-up test of social skills between the averages of the experimental and controlled groups in favor of the former.
Accordingly, the study concluded that the guidance-training program on social skills based on Reality Theory (Choice Theory) is effective in the development of social skills among basic education students in the Sultanate of Oman. By virtue of this result, the study has reached some recommendations and suggestions
