The study aims to identify the key obstacles facing the Omani woman working in the private industrial sector, and highlight their effectiveness on being settled in their professional development. They also affect them from doing their expected social and economical roles. Therefore, this study intends to identify these personal obstacles as well as social and cultural obstacles. It also covers others related to the job environment including management and organization aspects. The study was based on three theories which are the Constructivist/ Functional theory, Marxist theory, and the Role theory. As a descriptive study, it covers both quantitative and qualitative methods. The study consist of a sample of 232 Omani women working in the private industrial sector. The selection of participants was based on purposive sample and the questionnaire consists of both quantitative and qualitative questions. The study results show that there are four obstacles suffer and facing the Omani women working in the context studied. The obstacles were generally within the average level; in terms of the degree of influence. It was clear that the personal obstacles came in the first place as the most effective on participants success and being settled in their jobs. Secondly comes the obstacles related to social and cultural aspects. The third level of aspects affecting Omani women are the administrative and organizational obstacles, and finally came the work environment obstacle. The study also showed that there are statistically significant differences between deferent variables including the age, educational level, marital status, type of employment contract, monthly income, and professional level with the obstacles. However, the study found that there is no statistically significant between the variable of years of experience and the obstacles in its four domains. The study ended by discussing the results in light of previous studies and the theoretical frameworks as well as demonstrating most important suggestions with clear mechanisms for implementing them.
