In this study, I have addressed the subject of State Security and have attempted to define the nature of crimes against state security and how they differ from other criminal activities in a society. I have also examined the various policies and legal principles adopted for protection of state security and the organization of various agencies entrusted with the task of safeguarding the security of the State.
I have tried further to examine this subject in the light of Omani criminal and law of state security with a comparison similar laws in Egypt, France and British laws.
This study aims to recognize the procedural and punitive principles laid down in the project for handling the State Security Crimes at the State Security Tribunals in a different way from the principles governing the Omani Criminal Law. This study also examines the effectiveness of Omani Legislator in addressing the State Security Crimes from within and abroad and the totality of such protection in the face of such crimes and the effectiveness of state security legislations compared to legislations in foreign countries and the attitude of the Omani Criminal proceder Law towards such crimes.
