This study aimed at identifying bachelor and general diploma students' attitudes, at the college of education - Sultan Qaboos University, towards contemporary environmental issues. It also examines whether there are statistically significant differences between the students in their environmental attitudes attributed to the variables of qualification, specialization or gender To collect the data, a questionnaire consisted of 46 items distributed among five main issues, namely: population, water «soil, pollution and exhaustion of natural resources. After it was checked for validity and reliability, the instrument, it was distributed to a sample of 121 male and female students- representing 75% of the total population. The study has arrived at the following results: 1- The results show that the sample possesses highly positive attitudes towards the environment. 2-There are no statistically significant differences between the sample individuals attributed to the qualification variable. 3. Existence of statistically significant differences attributed to the specialization variable in favor of geography specialization within the third main issue) soil), and in favor of history specialization within the fourth main issue) pollution 4 - There are no statistically significant differences between the samples Individuals attributed to the gender variable. In the light of the results of her study, the researcher put forward a number of proposals and recommendations, of which these are the most important: - Students should promote interest in the development of environmental attitudes among students through working-field trips and visits. - They should deepen their insights into the various environmental issues. - They should take more interest in incorporating the environmental problems of the Sultanate into the academic curriculums of the general, basic and university educational levels.
