This report presents integrated petrophysical, sedimentological, and petrographical study carried out to evaluate the rock properties and reservoir quality of the Amin Formation of the Middle Cambrian Haima Supergroup North Oman. The study is carried out with a view to understand their effects on the reservoirs hydrocarbon prospect and productivity of the field. The evaluated properties include porosity, fluid saturation and net/ gross thickness, which are obtained from well logs. A full set of well logs including gamma ray, resistivity, neutron and density logs for five wells from the studied field were analyzed for reservoir characterization. The analyses carried out involves description of lithologies, identification of reservoirs and fluid types, wells correlation and determination of petrophysical parameters of identified reservoirs. Well logs primarily gamma ray and resistivity were used for stratigraphic correlations and evaluation for hydrocarbon potentiality. Gamma ray log did not have distinguishing features allowing detailed correlation. However, spectral gamma ray allows clear division of the studied Amin interval into three major layers. Correspondingly, resistivity log allows detailed correlation confirmed by matching with spectral gamma ray correlation. The computed effective porosity range in Amin Formation subunits was found to be 4.7% - 8.5%, and hydrocarbon saturation 41.2% - 81.9% Permeability was empirically driven from available core data of one of the studied wells. Thin sections analysis has been performed for further evaluation of the reservoir characteristics, and identification of the major controls on reservoir quality. The investigation focused on petrographic characteristics of cight samples from the studied area including textural analysis, mineral composition and identifying the diagenetic processes and their effect on porosity. The Amin Formation in the studied wells is dominated by low porosity sandstones. The pore system is extremely affected by extensive cementation (authigenic quartz overgrowth and dolomite) and differential compaction
