This study aimed to identify the degree of the practice of participatory supervision by the educational supervisors of the Basic Schools at Al-Dhahirah Governate and its relation to the professional commitment from the perspective of the teachers. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive relational approach was used. The researcher developed a measure of participatory supervision consisting of (35) items divided into five main areas, and the measure of professional commitment that describe the relation approach measurement which consists of (18) items divided into three main domains. After verifying their validity and stability, these measures were applied to the study sample who of (404) teachers. In order to answer the questions of the study. The arithmetical averages and standard deviations were extracted in addition to the use of T-test and Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis through the gradual method.
The most important result revealed by the study is that the degree of the practice of the participatory supervision by the educational supervisors from the perspective of the sample members ranged between good and very good. The level of the professional commitment among the sample members ranges between high and very high. The study also revealed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) for the level of the practice of the participatory supervision of the Basic School educational supervisors of the of Dhahira Governate due to the variables of gender, academic qualification or years of experience. Furthermore, it revealed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) for the level of professional commitment due to the variables of gender, academic qualification or years of experience. The study revealed that there is a positive correlation between the degree of the practice of the participatory supervision by the educational supervisors and the level of the professional commitment of the teachers.
In light of the results of the study, a number of recommendations were proposed; the most important of which is: encouraging the educational supervisors to preserve this high level of the practice of the participatory supervision, and to give the teachers more help and support to preserve the high level of professional commitment, especially at the boys' schools.
