The present study. aims at investigating the effectiveness of a career a group counseling program based upon the cognitive information processing approach to develop the skills of career decision taking in a sample of tenth graders. The sample of the study included 60 students; 30 students (15 males and 15 females) were in the experimental group and 30 students were in the control group (15 males and 15 females). The experimental group was exposed the program, however the control group was various educational activities. The researcher used Crites's scale (Form BI). The study uses a quasi experimental research design. The results from the 2x2 multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) showed that there were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in the post-test in all subscales of Crites's scale (Bl form) favoring the experimental group. The results of the 2x2 mixed design MANOVA showed that there were significant differences between the pre-test and the post-test for the experimental group in all subscales of Crites's Scale (Bl form) favoring the post-test. There was a significant interaction effect between students' gender and time for the experimental group. It was found that females improved more than males in confirming career decision making, although both males and females achieved higher on the post-test compared to the pre-test. Males improved more than females in independence in career decision taking, although both males and females achieved higher on the post-test compared to the pre-test.
