This study aims to investigate the degree of job satisfaction among social studies teachers in the Sultanate of Oman from their point of view. In addition to that the study aims to examine the impact of a certain set of variables including in gender, specialization, experience, and the educational governorate that they work in. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive approach, where he designed a questionnaire consisting of (54) sentences that covers (5) dimension: the satisfaction with the nature of the work, satisfaction with the social studies curriculum, satisfaction with the educational policies, satisfaction with financial incentives, and teacher self-satisfaction. After testing reliability and validity, the questionnaire was used with the study sample consisting of (408) teachers of social studies in the following governorates of Oman: Muscat, South of Batina and North of Batina. The results of the study have showed that the mean of degree of job satisfaction was in the ratio of (2.72), which means it is moderately satisfied. The results also indicate that there are statistically significant differences the dimension in the ratio of (a=0.05) attributed to gender variables in favor of male with all dimensions, However, the results have revealed that there are no statistically significant differences in the ratio of (a=0.05) attributed to differences in specialization, teaching experience, and the educational governorates in all of the study dimensions. The researcher recommends testing job satisfaction of teachers on regular and continuous bases. This is to come up with reliable results that can contribute to (1) the development of the education field, (2) develop the social studies curriculum with the involvement of social studies teachers, (3) and to take an account of the subject of social studies and increase its importance. (4) The researcher also recommends reopening the specializations of preparing teachers in the field of geography and history in the higher education institutions. (5) Finally, the researchers suggest to form syndicate of teachers in the sultanate of Oman.
