الملخص الإنجليزي
This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two models in
making career decision of sample from basic tenth class in Al Dhahira
region in Sultanate of Oman.
The study sample was consisted of 36 students that selected from basic
tenth class, and distributed randomly into three groups. Two groups were
experimental and the third was the control group. The first trial group is
subjected to guidance assembly program to improve the level of making
career decision based on Holland theory. Whereas the second trial group
subjected to guidance assembly program to improve the level of making
career decision based on Super theory. Study sample were distributed in
simple random way, while no treatment was applied for the control group.
Statistical analysis was applied (means and standards deviation) at pre
and post tests for the two trial groups and the control group. A " Kruskal
Willis " test was used to detect statistical differences between the two
experimental groups and control group at pre and post tests.
Results had shown that there were significant differences in meaning
level in improving level of taking professional decision. Students who
244
trained on the guidance program which based on Holland theory
performed better than students of the second trial groups and control
group in improvement of level of taking career decision.
Students in second trial group and who is subjected to guidance program
which based on Super theory was better than performance of student in
control group in improving level of making career decision. This indicates
the efficiency of the two theories used in this study. First experimental
group that used Holland theory showed more efficiency than the other.
These results indicated that using Holland theory in Oman environment
might be appropriate in selection and professional decision from the
practical side, and ability to use.
According to the present results, researcher recommends few points
related to students, specialists and educational curriculum to be
considered.
