The aims of the study were to identify the extent to which basic education in Oman included the objectives of education for Sustainable Development, to identify the challenges of achieving education for Sustainable development in basic education schools, and to present proposals that contribute to achieving this goal in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development. The study was conducted in interviews with eight of Ministry of Education officials and officials in sustainable development. The interview questions consisted of a number of questions. The first group's questions included questions about the extent to which basic education meets the requirements of sustainable development. The following questions were related to the challenges facing the implementation of education for sustainable development in basic education schools. The last question was related to the proposals that support the achievement of basic education for the objectives of sustainable development. The researcher reached a number of results, the most important of which are: Has achieved the bulk of the objectives of sustainable development. The most recent reorientation of the education policy in Oman is the philosophy of education, which includes an explicit principle of concern for education for sustainable development. The basic education curricula, though included in a wide range of development topics. But the inclusion was separate from the subjects and without declaring sustainable development as a concept, and the respondents concluded that there is a lack of rehabilitation programs for teachers to deal with the topics of sustainable development, and weak link between the practical side and the cognitive side whether the student or teacher or curriculum.
