This study talks about the most influential aspects of international labour standards on the Omani labour law legislative policy through the international principles & conventions that are ratified or not ratified by the Sultanate. It points out there is lack in regulating some areas related to significant principles in international labour law. Based on the above, the researcher highlights the most influential aspects of international labour standards within the international principles & conventions that are endorsed or not on the Omani labour law legislative policy. It discusses the compatibility of these conventions and efforts exerted to incorporate them with the local labour law. Its states the Sultanate position regarding incorporating these standards in the Commercial agreements. The researcher addresses other principles such as trade union association, collective negotiations, labour inspection and both equal opportunities and treatment. The researcher concludes that Oman is affected by international labour standards. Such influence is reflected in a number of international labour principles and conventions regulated by the Omani Labour Law; however, this impact is deficient due to the omission of the legislator in regulating some fundamental issues related to the international conventions.
