The study is aimed at exploring the reality of administrative communication among directors of Basic Education Schools, in the Governorate of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, and its relation to participation in decision-making from the point of view of the teachers.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach was followed and questionnaire was used in the collection of data and information. A sample of (400) male and female teachers were selected via the stratified random method for the purpose. The study concluded with a set of some important results, the most important of which are:
• That the reality of administrative communication among the directors of Basic Education Schools in the Governorate of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of teachers according to the domains of the standard of practicing administrative communication skills has reached a high degree in its practice.
• That the level of participation of the directors of Basic Education Schools in the Governorate of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman in decision-making from the point of view of teachers according to the domains of the scale of participation in decision-making was also of a high degree.
• That all the values of the correlation coefficients between the administrative communication skills and the areas of participation in the decision-making are entirely and consistently positive.
The study, thus suggested a number of recommendations; the most important of which are:
• Enhancing the administrative communication skills of the directors of the Basic Education Schools through training programs.
• Implementing training programs in the skills of administrative communication and decision-making, in coordination with the training centers in the Ministry of Education.
• Activating and benefiting from the modern technologies developed by the Ministry of Education in practicing electronic communication skills for all parties involved in the educational process.
• Training the school principals of the Basic Education Schools on management practices that qualify them in the process of administrative decision-making in all its steps.
