This study sought understanding the general characteristics of the Omani poetry in the Ya'rubi and Nabhani ages, which are the parallel ages to the Mamluke and Ottoman ages in the general Arabic field. The study tries to answer the following fundamental question; did the Omani poetry enter during these two ages the weakness stage in the artistic level and the stagnation in the meanings and the sterility in the imagination as was the state in the parallel ages in the general Arab environment? Qr that the Omani poetry was an exception from that general state? And did the special political and social situations that Oman lived in the studied ages support that supposed exception? Or that the Omani poetry in this stage had similar appearances that were known of the poetry of the Mamluke and Ottoman ages? And to what limit it had incurred into them? The answer to these pivotal questions will lead definitely to making a general imagination - and do not say general decisive judgements - about the level of monopolization and creativity in the Omani poetry and will give a general image about the site of the Omani poetry in the two ages from the rhyme circles that attracted to its concealment the manners of this stage: its poetry and its prose. For the sake of handling this topic the researcher has put the study in three main chapters with an introduction and a conclusion, with some other appendices supporting the study content. From the methodological side, it was a must for the researcher to study the Arabic poetry in the ages parallel to these ages (Nabahani and Ya'rubi) in the general Arabic field. The researcher depended on the available studies, trying the extraction of the phenomena that described the age poetry whether on the poetry level or on the level of the producers of the poetic work, focussing his effort on the poets' states, the poetic language, the meanings, the poetic purposes, the poetry music and the poem structure, so that he exerts his effort in the subsequent chapters on following those phenomena and the development of its spread and its acceptance in the Omani poetic environment, using a descriptive and analytic historical approach in matching the poetic texts so that he concentrated in the subsequent chapters on studying the Omani poetry in the two ages under study. The study concluded that the Omani poetry in the two ages had accepted a lot of those appearances and features on the level of the poetic language, the meanings and the poetic purposes, which form in these fields most of those features. However, they had been accepted in relatively later time, taking longer temporal process compared to the state in the general Arab field, while noting that the poetic language with respect to its linguistic safety remained keeping its freshness and its eloquence in all the two stages with a slight and limited presence to the colloquial poetry. The researcher has also concluded that the Omani poetry had refused other poetic features, for their contradiction with the social and religious nature to the Omani society or for the weak contact of the Omani poets in the two stages by the general Arab poetic production, that had limited the reception of some appearances especially those that relate to the new poetic purposes and those that relate to the poetry music and the poem structure that witnessed only very slight changes The researcher has confirmed that the decisive general judgments do not express the matters truth. And it gives - most of the time - misleading and premature results in a poetic field where exceptions and the disparity in the level of the poetic performance are spread on the level of the poetic age and on the poet level sometimes
