This study aims to highlight the scholarly life in Oman during a historical period many historians have studied especially from the political and military side. This period was in the Ya'rubi ruling time in Oman from (1034 H/ 1624A.D - 1162 H 1749A.D). To fulfill this aim, the researcher shed light on this new area focused in Oman throughout that period, and focused the researchers and historians' attention on the intellectual and cultural aspects in the history of Oman. The researcher, in this study, followed the description methodology to study the Imams, and scholars' interest in and the economic prosperity. Also he used the same method when he examined the intellectual production throughout that period. In addition to that, he used the induction methodology when he tackled the topic of religious tolerance, also when he studied the education al system and its institutes and centers. The researcher benefited from manuscripts that were written or copied during that time. In addition, he depended on some books of jurisprudence during the period of study. The research is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the factors that facilitated the development of the scholarly life during the Ya'rubi era. The second chapter concentrates on the educational system and the most outstanding educational centers. In the last chapter, the study offers some examples of the intellectual production in the Ya'rubi era which reveal the scholarly life at that time. This study produced many important results. One of them was the interest of the Ya'rubi Imams in education as well as their concentration on military elements necessitated by the circumstances of the time. Moreover, the scholars at that time adopted some important principles and educational theories. Another result was the variety of the roles of the educational institutes, which included education, copying books and academic debates. Furthermore, the researcher discovered that some Omani women also contributed to the scholarly life. Regarding the intellectual studies during the Ya'rubi time, they were distinguished by both diversity and specialization.
Finally the researcher recommends that other researchers' avoid turn to the study of the specialized civilizational issues in Oman's history and avoid generalization. Many cultural, economic and administrative areas · need to be studied profoundly to reveal the enlightened developments in Omani history.
