The aim of this study is to find out the effectiveness of the program " Kahoot" in developing the writing skills of the Arabic Language learners who learns it as foreign language in the intermediate level which is from the answering the following questions:
1- What are the writing skills needed for Arabic learners who learns it as foreign language in the intermediate level?
2- What is the effectiveness of the program " kahoot" in developing the writing skills of Arabic language learners who learns it as foreign language?
In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher reviewed the educational literature and some Arab references and the curriculum to be taught at Majan Institution for Training - where the study was applied - to determine the needed writing skills for learners in the intermediate level, which was shown to a group of the competent arbitrators in this area to give their opinions about it. the semi-experimental curriculum was used which is of the one group and includes two tests; before and after. The sample of the program was applied to the sample of the study which was four learners" two males and two male from the Arabic language learners who learns it as foreign language at the Majan Institution for Training from 3/6/2018 to 24/8/2018.
The writing skill lessons were designed in kahoot program and were presented to a group of the competent arbitrators to determine their suitability for the study. After that , the before test was applied to determine the levels of the learners in writing skills which the study specified them. Then the learners were taught using kahoot program during the specified time. After that the after test was applied to measure the effectiveness of the kahoot program in developing the same writing skills of the learners after teaching them using this program.
The results of the study showed the effectiveness of the kahoot program in developing the writing skills of skills of the Arabic Language learners who learns it as foreign language in the intermediate level By reaching the following conclusion:
- There are differences of statistical significance among the learners in the skill of writing between the pre- and post- applications at the level of significance for (α ≤ 0.05) the benefit of the post-application because of the use of the program "Kahoot".
Based on the positive results of the study, the researcher gave a set of recommendations that would have an impact on the development of writing skills in particular and other skills in general for Arabic language learners who learns it as foreign language, and the impotant ones are:
- It is necessary to use the kahoot program and computerized educational programs in teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers by teachers and learners a well as one of the effective teaching aids in developing their writing skills in particular and other skills (listening, reading, speaking) in general.
