This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using Multiple Intelligences Theory- Strategy Teaching (MIT) as opposed to the traditional teaching methods on students' comprehension of science physical concepts. It also investigated whether the MIT will have any effect on the improvement of science processes among them. The study was conducted on 58 girls 10th grade students selected purposively from one of the Basic Education schools in the capital Muscat. Students were divided into two groups; experimental and control. The experimental group was subjected to the MIT teaching method consisted of 28 girls, while the control group consisted of 31 girls. The previous achievements in science subject were taken into consideration in the selection process. The experiment lasted for two months during the second semester of the school academic year 2012/2013. The procedure of the study involved the preparation of a teacher manual in how to teach science subject using MIT and a workbook, which consists the curricular, extra curricular exercises and activities based on MIT. In addition, the study used science theoretical test consisting of 46 subjects and 39 concept. The test corresponds to 6 science processes: induction, empirical, space, time, analytical and communicational. The test was administered on both groups before the beginning and at the end of the semester. The reliability of the conceptual test was Cronbach Alfa = 0.88, while the science processes was Cronbach Alfa = 0.83. The results showed that, the achieving of science concepts by girls in the experimental group was higher than the girls in the control group. The differences were statistically significant at 95% level of confidence. They also showed that, statis significant differences between the means scores of the two groups in the science process of induction. Moreover, a significant positive correlation was also observed among the experimental group between acquiring physical concepts and some science processes. The study emphasizes the importance of revisiting the current teaching methods of science subject and the adoption of multiple intelligence teaching strategy, as an alternative. Furthermore, it points to the importance of conducting further studies on students with special educational needs and learning difficulties in science and other subjects in general.
