The study aimed to identify the relationship between self-awareness and social intelligence among a sample of general education diploma students in North al Sharqia schools. The study sample consisted of (517) male and female students. The study followed the correlative descriptive method. In order to answer the study questions, the study used the Self–Awareness Scale of the Al Qarghuli (2011), and the Social Intelligence Scale prepared by Abu Amsha (2013).
The study concluded that the level of self-awareness among students of general education diploma was high. In addition, the level of social intelligence among general education diploma students was high, and there was a positive statistically significant correlation between the level of self-awareness and social intelligence. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between male and female in the level of dimensions of self-awareness scale in favor of males. There are no statistically significant differences in the level of self-awareness due to the variable birth order. However, there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance between males and females in the level dimensions of the measure of social intelligence scale in favor of males, except the dimension of understanding the others, which showed no differences. The study showed that there were statistically significant differences in the dimension of influence and social impact between the birth order (the middle) on the one hand and the birth order (the only) and (the last), on the other hand..
