The current study investigates the Occupational Adjustment and its correlation
with perceived self-efficacy of a sample of employees at the Directorate General of
Education in Al-Dakhlyai governorate. The researcher has used a descriptive
cor-relational approach and the study was conducted with 260 employees working in
the directorate general of education in Al-Dakhliya governorate as well as those
working in the teacher's training center and the supervision office in Samail. Two
research instruments were designed to measure Occupational Adjustment and
perceived self-efficacy.
The study aimed to answer the following research questions:
1. What is the level of Occupational Adjustment of the employees in the
directorate general of education in Al-Dakhliya governorate?
2. What is the level of perceived self-efficacy of the employees in the
directorate general of education in Al-Dakhliya governorate?
3. What is the correlational relationship between the level of occupational
adjustment and the level of perceived self-efficacy among the employees in
the directorate general of education in Al-Dakhlyia governorate?
4. Are there any statistically significant differences in the level of occupational
adjustment due to gender, social status, qualification and years of experience?
5. Are there any statistically significant differences in the level of perceived self efficacy due to gender, social status, qualification and experience?
Main findings of the study:
1. The level of occupational adjustment of the study sample appears to be very
high.
2. The level of perceived self-efficacy of the study sample appears to be very
high.
3. There is a statistically significant positive correlation between occupational
adjustment and perceived self-efficacy among the study sample.
4. There are no statistically significant differences in the level of occupational
adjustment due to social status and qualification.
5. However, there are statistically significant differences in the level of
occupational adjustment due to gender in favor for the male employees.
6. There are also statistically significant differences in the level of occupational
adjustment due to years of experience in favor for those with more than 15
years of experience.
7. There are no statistically significant differences in the level of perceived self efficacy due to gender.
8. There are statistically significant differences in the level of perceived self efficacy due to qualification in favor for those who are master degree holders.
9. There are statistically significant differences in the level of perceived self efficacy due to years of experience in favor for those with more than 15 years of experience.
10. Oupational adjustment through perceived self-efficacy among the employees in
the directorate general of education in the governorate of Interior is predictable.
The findings of the present study provide a number of recommendations for
professional development practices for the employees at the directorate general of
education in Al-Dakhliya governorate as well as some directions for further research.
