This study aims to identify the degree of using the reengineering method in the
practice of administrative processes in the self administrated schools in Oman.
The study also tries to identify the different attitudes of schools principals in
this practice according to their gender, academic qualification, administrative
experience, specialization and governorate.
The problem of the study was summed upon the questions:
What is the extent of the practice of reengineering of administrative processes
at self-administrated schools in Sultanate of Oman?
Are there any differences in the degree of using the reengineering method in
the practice of administrative processes in the self administrated schools in
Oman according to the gender, academic qualification, administrative
experience, specialization and governorate?
The study adopted the analytical descriptive approach
To answer questions of the study, the researcher developed
76-items questionnaire and administered it to sample of 72 principals (100% of
the population of the study).
The first section of the questionnaire was devoted to a collection of primary
data about the subject.
The second section had 76-items distributed among six domains: reengineering
of the planning process, organization process, the orientation process, the
evaluation process, the professional development for teachers process and the
community participation process.
The overall reliability coefficient of the instrument, using Cronbach's Alpha,
was (0.971 ), which was appropriate enough for scientific research purposes.
After data collection, the researcher conducted a statistical processing of data
using arithmetic means, standard deviation, T-test for two independent groups,
One-Way Analysis of Variance and "LSD" Test for multi – comparisons.
