This study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of using animation in developing concepts of water issues in Social Studies subject among the students of grade eight in Al Batinah South Governorate. Semi-experimental approach has been used to achieve the aim of the study. Researcher prepared an achievement test consisting of (25) multiple choice questions. After confirming its validity and consistency indications, the test has been applied on (60) female students of grade eight in one of the Al Batinah South schools (Asia Bint AL Harith School 5-8), however, the sample of the study has been randomly distributed into two groups:
- Experimental group, includes (30) female students who were taught by using the animation method.
- Control group, includes (30) female students who were taught by usual method.
The application of the study continued for a month during the second semester of 2019/2020 academic year.
- The study results showed that there is a statistically significant differences at (a=0.05) level between the mean scores of experimental and control groups in post application to test the concepts of water issues for the benefit of the experimental group.
Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommended that to use animation as a method in the process of teaching, as well as, she recommended that the necessity for having further corresponding studies in teaching academic subjects in different academic levels.
