The research aimed to identify the recognition of the importance of work in the areas of perception and its relation to self-efficacy and the focus of control for psychologists, and to recognize the significance of differences in perception of the importance of work in extension fields according to variables (gender, social status, school location, type of school, experience, work The research process consisted of (90) specialists (67) males and (23) females from the Governorate of Muscat, South and North Sharqia. In order to achieve the research, the researcher used three tools, the first to measure The Perception of the importance of work in the fields of counseling, Prepared by (Al-Safasefh, 2005). and the second to measure self-efficacy (Lent et al., 2003). The third tool for measuring the focus control was prepared by (Router, 1956). The results indicated that the level of perception among psychologists was high, the self-efficacy level of psychiatrists was low, and the focus of control for psychologists was internal, and there was also no relation between conception the importance of work in the fields of counseling and self-efficacy as well as the focus of control in the research sample, and the results showed no differences according to variables (gender, social status, school location, school type, experience, workplace).
