English abstract
The study is designed to identify the personal traits of social and psychological specialists and their relationship to the Professional Competence and self-efficacy in Al Batinah South Governorate. The researcher used descriptive method. The study's sample consists of (150) social and psychological specialists working in schools affiliated to the General Directorate of Education, the researcher used three tools which are: the five major factors of the personality, the Professional Competence measure and the self-efficacy measure.
The results of the study showed that social and psychological specialists are categorized by emotional balance, external, openness to experience, acceptability, and conscience. The degree of professional competence of social and psychological specialists in Al Batinah South Governorate was significant, while the degree of self-efficacy was moderate. The results indicated a positive correlative relationship and a statistically significant relation among the personal traits scale (in its five dimensions), the professional competence scale (in its four dimensions) and Self-efficacy scale In addition, there are statistically significant differences in the dimension (emotional balance) between the two groups (bachelor and master). Although, it was more for the master degree according to the variable of scientific qualification in the measure of personality traits. Finally, the outcomes showed that it can be predicted the professional competence of social and psychological specialists by personal traits and self-efficacy.
