English abstract
The study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using blogs in teaching social studies on the development of tenth grade female students' achievement and attitudes towards using it. The study sample consisted of (63) female students. They were divided into two groups, experimental group consisted of (31) female students and control group (32( To examine the effectiveness of the blogs two measures were used: Achievement test consisted of (23) questions and attitudes scale consisted of (29) items. Their validity were examined by a group referees, and the reliability.. was examined by piloting them on (32) students from outside the actual study sample. The resutls of Alpha Cronbach Coefficient for the achievement test was (0.68), and (0,89) for the attitudes scale. The results showed that there were significant statically differences at (a >0.05) between the mean of the experimental group and controlled group in favor to the experimental group. The study also found that female students showed high positive attitudes toward using blogs in teaching. In the light of the results, the study recommended to spread the use of blogs in the teaching of social studies.
