English abstract
This study focuses on marine and river environment in the pre-Islamic poetry. It consists of an introduction , three chapters, and a conclusion . It dealt with the importance of water within the pre-Islamic poetry, especially the sea and the river environment in the Arabian Peninsula and how much pre-Islamic poets were influenced by it. For instance they praise people by comparing them to the sea or the river. They also describe a beloved girl by calling her a Pearl . An other example is likening their strength as well as their trading journeys and their talent in telling poetry to the power of huge sea waves . The first chapter discusses the river and marine environment, describes their voyages and revels their secrets . The second is about the objective characten stics of the river and marine environment. I detected that in all kinds of poertry such as praising love, pride and description. The third chapter is about the artistic qualities of the river and marine environment in pre-Islamic poetry in terms of the poetic image , the structure of the poem , the style of writing , the language used and the poetry rhythm . I ended my study with a brief Summary where I mentioned the results and Findings I came out with and I finished with writing down my references and sources .
