English abstract
This study aimed to explore the role of educational supervisors in professional development of fine arts female teachers in south and north Al Batinah governorates in Sultanate of Oman.
The study implemented the descriptive methodology. A questionnaire was designed as means of data collection; it consisted of 63 statements that were grouped into 9 fields. These were distributed to the study sample on the bases of class. The sample covered 250 fine arts female teachers.
The findings of the study are as in the following:
-The average means for the sampled individuals were significantly positive in all areas of professional development. There was no statically significant variance on the level of the indicator 0.05 in the responses of the sampled individuals in relation to experience variable.
There was statically significant variance on the level of the indicator 0.05 in the responses of the sampled individuals in relation to the field of educational leadership as per the Wilaya variable mainly for Wilayat Wadi Vaawel, Barka, and Al Awabi. While there was no statically significant variance on the level of the indicator 0.05 in the responses of the sampled individuals in relation to other professional development areas attributed to the Wilaya variable.
In lights of the findings of the study, the researcher recommends and suggests the following:
Training supervisors to conduct enriching programs that encourage teachers to do research and familiarize themselves with recent educational trends in their area of specialization.
Arranging workshops and specialized courses on the levels of schools a sustainable and continuous way.
Enhancing teachers to conduct procedural research studies that foster and develop their work in their fields.
Encouraging teachers to innovate and renew their teaching methods and produce educational aids from the various environmental ores and raw materials.
Strengthening the relationship and loyalty between teachers and school environment by means of encouraging them to effectively participate in the events and activities held by schools.
Reducing the traditional methods in the process of supervising by means of updating these methods in accordance with the most recent international trends in the process of educational supervision.
