The study aimed to identify the nature of the social returns and level of voluntary work in the Omani society, through the achievement of sub-objectives of: detecting the level of revenues that accrue to the individual as a result of his involvement in volunteer activity through three main dimensions: (personal development, gain experience and life skills, access to work), and the disclosure of the level of revenues that accrue to society as a result of the exercise of voluntary activity through four dimensions: (to strengthen the values of citizenship, the development of social solidarity values, system human values and civil virtues, economic development). The study also sought to propose some suggestions to raise the level of social return for volunteer work in the Omani society. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method in this research in order to interpret the data and extract implications in quantitative and qualitative methods in order to reach definitive conclusions which can be generalized. The study was applied to all members and volunteers in charitable and women's associations who are subject to the law on non Government organizations (NGO) (14/T..), altogether with the informal voluntary groups whether related to Social development or its subsidiaries. The actual search sample which has been selected reached T19 volunteers. The research sample is probabilistic type (intentional), using the method available (coincidence) in the choice of vocabulary, due to the lack of a specific list of volunteers in most of the associations and teams of volunteers. In addition, there was the difficulty of finding search terms in the radius during the application of the questionnaire. Thus, it relied on what is available. The study data collection tool depended on the questionnaire. The findings of this field study research reached several results, summarized in the following:
1. The results of the study showed a high level of social return for volunteer work in the Omani society (according to the sample), in respect of the general level of social return. Y. The results of the study indicated that most of the dimensions of social return for volunteer work were at a high level, arranged in a row: followed by the system of human values and civil virtues. Next was the development of social solidarity values, then came the development of personal values, followed by strengthening the values of citizenship. After that was the acquisition of skills and life experiences, and then the yield on the local level of the national economy, while only one dimension reached the level of average earnings. As for the personal level, the revenue opportunities were for volunteers to get a work as a result of his participation in the voluntary efforts without any dimension getting a weak level. 7. The results of the study showed that social returns are higher revenues resulting from the exercise of volunteer work, which occupled the first rank. 4. The results of the study concluded that the voluntary sector revenues constitute a socially and economically valuable additive which can be invested in supporting the comprehensive and sustainable development in the community. The study presented a set of suggestions to raise the level of social return for volunteer work in the Omani society.
