English abstract
The main purpose of this project is to highlight the impacts and results as well as making recommendations on the subject of protection of civilians during times of international armed conflicts and the damages that results on the civilian groups. For this purpose, this project was dived into an introductory chapter and three principle chapters as follows:
1.Introductory chapter entitled the nature of armed conflict and the distinction between international and non-international conflicts. This chapter consists of t about the definition of armed conflict, whereas the second one talks about the distinction between international armed conflict and non-international armed conflict.
2.The first chapter basically explains the nature of civilians and civilian objects that are guaranteed protection under the rules of international humanitarian law through two main sections as follows:
*Definition of civilians and civilian objects and classes that are decided by the international Humanitarian law and this consists of two sub-divisions.
3. The second chapter : it illustrates types of protection that are decided by the international humanitarian law for civilians and civilian objects during armed conflicts and it consists of two sections as follows: *Protection that was decided by the Fourth Geneva Convention and it consists of 2 sub-divisions *protection that was determined by the First Additional Protocol and it consists of 2 sub-divisions
4.The third chapter: it talks about the responsibility of violations of the international humanitarian rules for the protection of civilians and civilian objects in two sections as follows: *State responsibility for violations of the international humanitarian rules for the protection of civilians and civilian objects *Individual criminal responsibility for violations of the international humanitarian rules for the protection of civilians and civilian objects. In conclusion, the most important results and recommendations have been constructed and summarised in general to reach to the desired goal and to get the most out of this project.
