English abstract
This current study aimed to investigate the present application of GLOBE program in the Sultanate of Oman from the perspective of students and teachers. The sample consisted of (155) students from Muscat, Dakhiliyah, Ah dahra and from south/north Batin Governorates and (35) teachers from different regions in Oman.
To achieve the study's aim, two questionnaires were designed, one for students and other for teachers. The reliability of students questionnaire was (0.74) whereas the reliability of teacher questionnaire was (0.98). Interviews were also conducted to interpret the results of the questionnaires.
The findings revealed that most of GLOBE program goals have been achieved from the perspective of students and teachers and the program implementation procedures are appropriate for them, but some difficulties were highlighted like; there is no provision for the implementation of the protocols, weak internet service and the delayed of program equipments if damaged. The study also showed that there were no statically significant differences at (a= 0.05) on the reality of the application of the program from the students point of view by gender. Accordingly, the study recommended the need for an integration between the GLOBE program and the science curriculum. Also the study recommended the need for continuing workshops and training for GLOBE teachers and students. It also proposed conducting studies to investigate the impact of the program on acquiring inquiry skills and science processes among students.
