English abstract
The study aimed at developing a marketing proposal for tourism in the Sultanate of Oman by reporting on the reality of sports tourism in the Sultanate of Oman and knowing the divergent views on the reality of tourism according to the variables of the study. To achieve the purposes of the study the researcher used the descriptive approach that suit the nature of these types of studies. The researcher used a questionnaire for the employees of the Ministries of Tourism and Sports Affairs and its affiliated associations, another questionnaire for tourists and personal interviews as tools for study and data collection. The sample of the study was 219 and was chosen randomly. The questionnaire consisted of (35) statements and two domains and the second questionnaire consisted of (19) statements and two domains as well. The results of the reality of sports tourism from the point of view of employees of the Ministries of Tourism and Sports Affairs and tourists with an average of medium availability. The results also showed that the overall average of respondents is (2.61) from the point of view of workers in the Ministries of Tourism and Sports Affairs. It reached (3.37) from the point of view of tourists in the Sultanate of Oman, with an average of medium availability.
This result indicates that the respondents of the three categories agreed that the reality of tourism in the Sultanate of Oman needs to be promoted and supported to highlight the sports tourism components. The results of the study also indicate that the reality of sports tourism differs from the point of view of the study sample members according to their jobs. The statistics indicate that there are statistically significant differences for the employees of the Ministry of Tourism with an average of 2.74. This difference is due to the Ministry of Tourism employees' belief in their roles Contribution and raising the tourism sector to increase the income of the Sultanate.
This will be achieved by attracting more numbers of visitors to the Sultanate, and participating in the various sporting events that are held on the land of the Sultanate and in various governorates. The results indicated that there are no significant differences between male and female tourists in their view of the reality of sports tourism in the Sultanate of Oman.
The researcher also came up with a suggested proposal for the marketing of sports tourism in the Sultanate of Oman, which is to collect the most important views of the employees of the Ministries of Tourism and Sports Affairs and tourists, on what should be the marketing of sports tourism in Oman to attract more tourists and thus increase the income. Among the most important recommendations is the implementation of the proposed vision in the study through the Ministries of Tourism and Sports Affairs and its affiliated associations, and work on investing the natural and geographical components of the Sultanate in order to promote sports tourism and interest in hosting tournaments and local and international events for sports tourism.
