English abstract
This study aims to explore the reality of Knowledge sharing between doctors and nurses from the perspective of nurses working at Badr Al Samaa Hospital in Alkoud in the Sultanate of Oman , also to identify the motivational factors and the difficulties hindering knowledge sharing between doctors and nurses in terms of organization culture infrastructure technology and attitudes of the study population. This study used mixed method approach (quantitative and qualitative approaches) by using questionnaire in conducting the quantitative study and the semi-structured interview in doing the qualitative study.. A total of 75 questionnaires were distributed and 46 were retrieved, 46 of which were excluded to their lack of validity for analysis, So, the study sample reached 45 nurses. In the qualitative study, a random sample of 5 members was selected, including 3 nurses and 2 hospital administrators, based on their personal desire and consent to perform the interview. The results of the study revealed that there is a high degree of a practice of knowledge sharing between doctors and nurses at Badr Al-Sama'a Hospital. Also, there are a number of factors that stimulate knowledge sharing, including the institutional culture, organizational climate, technological infrastructure and attitudes of the study community, The obstacles of knowledge sharing related to the technological infrastructure and the attitudes of the members of the study community. The results of the quantitative study indicated that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (@0.05) in the society's assessment of the reality of knowledge sharing among doctors and nurses according to the variables of years of experience and .scientific qualification The study made the following recommendations: Organizing workshops to introduce doctors and nurses to the concept of knowledge sharing, encourage doctors and nurses to use social media to share knowledge with each other. Build a specialized database for doctors and nurses having as main purpose to support the hospital's knowledge sharing process. The organization should endeavor to make the Internet network speed suitable in the organization, to help employees to share knowledge . Support knowledge sharing between hospital departments and consider the possibility of intensifying awareness programs related to technology that support knowledge sharing in the medical sector. Omani health institutions should encourage their staff to participate in conferences in order to acquire knowledge and share it with others.
