English abstract
Among many of the Palestinian poets who defended their homeland with their intellectual and artistic abilities, we find the poet MouridAlbarghouthi whose fate has forced him to move away from his homeland. However, he did not give up and rather made of his displacement a reason to fight a war of words not less influential than a war of peace. The poet said his words fearlessly and evoked the homeland in his exile showing it in his poetry similarly as he left it before leaving.
His poem has been a picture full of clear features bearing between the lines the full Palestinian scene.
Poetry is based on portrayal. Therefore, poets convey their creations in the most beautiful picture. The poet took care of the image in his poetry, and because of its importance, he sought to study it in his poetry in terms of its concept, types, symbolism and sources of its composition.
The essay was presented in a preface and three chapters. The introduction included the definition of the image literally and conventionally as well as following this phenomenon in the past and present and showing its importance. The first chapter incorporated types of poetic imagery which is the individual image represented in incarnation, personification, through sense correspondence and exchange as well as simile, direct description and hence the overall image.
The second chapter deals with symbolism in Barghouthi's poetry in both its special and natural forms.
The third chapter was entitled "Barghouth's sources of the poetic images" which the poet derived from his religious, literary, folk and legendary heritage.
The words of the poet have managed to draw the features of creativity at all its allusions and significances and distinguished him from any other despite the proximity between him and his peers in different areas.
