English abstract
This research touches upon a variety of objectives, it first reviews a brief literature of the political, social, and educational landscape during the Ya'arubi era; the era in which the poet had lived. Furthermore, it follows the course of literature during that period of time. The literature review also investigates the poet's ancestry. his relations, and family.
This research consists of four chapters, the first two chapters discuss the poetic themes in the diwan (poetry). The first chapter focuses on eulogy, a inajor theme in Al Fazari's poetry and the second chapter includes discussions about other poetic themes such as love poems, preaching poems, elegy, and poems written for educational purposes, mentioning the meanings that these themes convey. The third chapter examines the poetic meters of the diwan, it studies the external and internal rhyme using a statistic approach. The chapter sheds light on the main meters that the poet used in his poetry and their compatibility with old Arabic poetic models. It studies the ending rhyine (qafiyah) and its parts within the discussion of external rhyme. Moreover, it examines the main qafiyah letters that Al Fazari used in his poetry and the significance of these specific letters in terms of meaning. The chapter also covers several objectives regarding internal rhyme, such as the recurrence of letters and words, and embellishment, in addition to its importance in adding rhyme to the poet's work. The last chapter includes the style of the diwan highlighting different topics like antithesis and imagery components such as similes, metaphors, allusion, and allegory. Other topics are discussed in this chapter, such as the studying of a group of rhetorical cases related to different types of sentences, for example verbal sentences and (jumla inshaia), and other styles like imperatives and the vocative case. This chapter also reviews the attributive sentence and the changes that may occur to it. It is noteworthy that the researcher uses the stylistic approach in the final
chapter.
All in all, this study aims at defining and tracking the features of Al Fazari's diwan (poetry) and its general attributes to introduce his poetry as a model of Omani poetry in the Ya'arubi era. It also looks at Al Fazari's commitment in following the poetic styles that late Arab poets used. The research concludes that Al Fazari's poetry follows old Arabic poetic style especially that of Al Jahili era. Other poets from the Ya'arubi era shared the same features and attributes as Al Fazari's poetry. Finally, the study recommends more research on the poet's work and a thorough identification for the study.
