Military specialized magazines and newspapers started to appear clearly almost in the mid of 18th century. Military press's goals come under the armed force's high objectives and it is committed with the state general information policy, information policy, information honour charters and profession morals. Military press functions are not a part from the press functions in general in terms of reporting on latest development, general security matters, explaining military issues to the reader, direct its public audience to everything beneficial, offering them entertainment programmes, predict future and merge with community individuals. Sultanate of Oman acquainted with military press in later time after being come in to sight in most Arabian countries. Oman Military Press pursues to create a positive mental image for its establishment and offers its services positively to the public audience. This study aims to find out the content characteristics in the Oman Military Press, the date of its establishment and the challenge it faces. The scholar researcher used the historical curriculum to get acquainted with the development of military press in Oman, the content analysis curriculum in studying the content of the all regular Omani Military Magazine: Jund Oman, Al-Bahryutul yum, Nesoor Oman, Alharas from Jan 2003 to Dec 2007 by using the quantitative analysis. The exploration research by using unlimited interview with a number of Omani Military Press staff was conducted to find out the challenges of the Omani Military Press faces. The study proved that the rate of non military contents surpassed the military contents and the topics of military celebrations, development and services matters have acquired the interest of the Omani military press. Moreover, the ratio of the content covers the national aspect in the Omani military press increased more than the issues of regional and international dimension. The study also approved that the predictive role which depends on analysis, criticism and inspiration of the future represents low percentage in comparison to explanatory and informative role. The Omani military press took the article techniques into consideration as it is the best method for discussion. The press news took up an advanced position in the Omani military press in addition to its interest in the art of press reportage. The study also clarified the Omani military press's dependence on the Omani writer in terms of the published subjects either he is from military establishment or from other authority. The study also indicated to a number of journalistic, technical and organizational challenges the Omani military press faces.
